2015- A look back

Well, 2015 is done and dusted, so it makes sense to do a bit of a year in review type thing.

So, lets have a wee look at what I have managed to paint over the year.

My goal was to paint a new survivor each week, posting them up on a Friday. Was I successful? Well... no. I missed a few weeks here and there (about 6 total),but did managed to complete no less than 105 survivors!

This included 76 modern survivors:

And the 29 survivors of Medieval Mayhem:

And then as for Zombies? Well, I painted a fair few of those too- 144 in fact!

It is quite the horde when you put them all in one place!

And of course the other big Zombie thing for the year was to co-author a set of Zombie rules, Skirmish Outbreak, and to release the first supplement in collaboration with Studio Miniatures.

Right, so that is a brief look back at 2015, next post will lay out some of the plans and schemes for 2016.

Announcing.... Medieval Mayhem!

“ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A KINGDOM RULED BY A WISE AND POWERFUL KING... well actually it was run by a large uncaring corporation, filled with children celebrating birthdays, adults just trying not to go crazy and staffed by slackers, stoners and students!

Medieval Mayhem funfair and theme park to give it is full name was regarded by its’ employees as one of the worst place in the world to work, if they weren’t picking up horse doody or nursing bruises from the rebated weapons, they were selling soft drinks and bad food to the willing audience BUT that was before the Zombie Apocalypse!!!”

Studio Miniatures and Radio Dishdash Publishing have teamed up to bring the Medieval Mayhem funfair and theme park to your gaming table.

Medieval Mayhem is the first supplement to Skirmish Outbreak, and adds a different dimension to the core rules. Inside the book you will find brave knights, humble peasants, damsels in distress and of course, hordes of the relentless undead! So while the knights might be fake, at least their weapons are sharp-ish, and their armour offers some form of protection!

The PDF of Medieval Mayhem will be given FREE to all of those who pledged at the Squire level or above in the Kickstarter (take a look here!), and will be available to everyone before Christmas, in both PDF and softback book formats.

You will of course need a copy of Skirmish Outbreak to play. If you head to skirmishoutbreak.com to pick up your copy in December, you will receive a $10 discount on the purchase price of the printed rules, now just 25 USD!

Radio Dishdash Zombies and Survivors

Colin and I are off to a convention in Christchurch this weekend, so naturally we needed a set of our figures all painted up nicely, and it also coincides very nicely with the fact that you can now buy yourself a set of our zombies and survivors from our website here at skirmishsangin.com!

for the weekend I have painted up:

The Gas-mask Survivor, wearing a very dapper yellow jacket!

The priest, with his crucifix to save him. And the pistol just in case....

The soldier, one from our modern ANZAC range, he brings the firepower of his Steyr assault rifle to the group!

And of course, we have the zombies. The zombies we have are what we term as "ragers". They are the freshly infected, they are still as strong and as fast as a human, but they can't repair like a living human can, meaning that after a short time, they will break down in to what we know (and love) as a shambling zombie.

The first rager is a police officer

The second, a woman on a night out in her little black dress

The third, a doctor in her hospital scrubs, having bitten through her surgical mask

The fourth, a soldier (and argh- I missed a mould line on his foot!)

Add to that a nice horde of other zombies which I have been building over the year and I am all set for the weekend's gaming!

I am not sure why it has taken me so long to paint my own figures, but here they are, plus, you can buy a set for yourself too! I must get some proper photos done of these figures too, so you will be seeing them again!

OUTBREAK released, and GENCON!

GENCON has begun, which means OUTBREAK has been released! Many a demo game has been played, many copies of our rules have flown out the door..

For those who didn't manage to find us, we are in booth 2934, in entrepreneurs avenue. We have many copies of OUTBREAK, as well as Skirmish Sangin, and our zombies and survivor miniatures- that's right, we have some survivors too!
