This week's survivor- a sneak peek!

I have been a little uninspired of late, you will have noticed that there are a few more updates being without stories, or I haven't been that quick on responding to comments. It isn't at all that I don't appreciate your comments, I really do, I have just been lacking a little inspiration for my Zombie project.

Now, inspiration for me is usually not hard to find. I have a multitude of ideas in my brain that just spin around until I finally draw a line in the sand and try to make them into reality. To get me out of this uninspired funk I am in, it was time for one of those to come out.

A long weekend with the mother in law staying meant no time for me to play toy soldiers, but when she left I was "owed" some toy soldier time. Out came the green stuff, and it was time to get the idea out of my head.

And so, you get a sneak preview of this week's survivor. I am sure a few of you will recognize him from a certain comic....

Time to let the green stuff cure, then on to painting. You can see the finished result Friday!

I have to say, I reckon this has gotten me out of my uninspired funk :)

  1. I'm a big fan of the '68 comics, Chris, so I recognised him straight away. I'm looking forward to seeing him painted.

  2. Wow, that's a really cool conversion dude! Great sculpting skills too. Who is he?
Just kidding, totally recognisable. Really good to see '68 influencing your modelling.

    1. Thanks Bob, thought you may recognise him from the latest one you have read :)

It was an idea I thought of immediately on reading it, although, how will I make NVA zombies...?

  3. nice figure. good going on the green stuff and looking forward to seeing him painted. It does get hard when you hit a bit of a flat spot but trying to get a post done can drag you along a little.

    1. Glad you like him!

Flat spots are natural in any project, so I am used to them. But having things like this to get me out of it are always welcome!

  4. I must be one of the few that don't recognise him !
Intrigued though by what you're going todo with the green stuff, or was the machete hilt 'it' ?

  5. Nope, I have also sculpted the gas mask and added the bamboo arm guards as well as the machete. It's not a whole miniature, but it is a bit of sculpting to make it look the way I wanted it to.

The character is from this: http://thebrownbagaeccb.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/68-jungle-jim-3-image-comics.html

    2. You must have thought I was a right goof thinking that a machete strap was a sculpting effort worth bragging about!

I can cover up some of my sculpting limitations with a good paint job too!
